Cox, “Yes we’re a wasteful business.”

Dear COX, What a waste of resources.  I do not have a cable box from you assholes, therefore I cannot watch your VOD, ONDEMAND programming.  “YOU have the power with Cox Digital Cable. Watch what you want, when you want.”

Let’s clear the air here.  I have the power to watch what I want when I want because of my [tag]TiVo[/tag] and [tag]cable card[/tag].  I know you’re sad I’m not paying you $12/month for you’re set top box, get over it.  Please stop contacting me and further wasting resources on customers who are unable to utilize your service.  No I won’t switch.

thunderbird bugs

I hate this bug. It has to be the only thing that makes using Mozilla Thunderbird such a pain in the ass. It’s disapointing that it has been open for ~3 years now and still not fixed, or apparently understood by the developers.

When sending an email, after the mail is sent via SMTP, it gets copied to the designated IMAP Sent Items folder. The email generally gets copied OK to the folder, but hangs the sending window until you cancel the email, and tell it to close and cancel about 3 times. It should only be 1 click to send, and forget about the client doing it’s business. But instead I have to check my Sent items each time to make sure I have a copy.

[update] This kinda seems to help
in the main window
open Tools->Message Filters
click “Filter Log”
Uncheck “Enable Filter Log”
then
Clear the log.
Hopefully it shouldn’t hang as much.

Nader/Camejo is running 50 state campaign. It is the only campaign to do so. One of the problems with the Electoral College is that it renders 41 states irrelevant to the campaigns. Putting the Bite on Mailman-Shaped Dog Treats

TORONTO (Reuters) - Dogs chomping on mail carrier-shaped treats is no laughing matter for Canada Post.

   

The unamused Canadian postal service — whose carriers endure more than their share of real dog bites — convinced Pet Valu Inc. stores to stop carrying Bark Bars, dog biscuits that come shaped like cats and letter carriers. “This is not in any way, shape, or form funny for us, and to make light of that … I don’t see that as funny at all, not even in the least,” said John Caines, Canada Post’s national media relations manager. The pet store chain, which has 292 outlets in Canada, agreed to withdraw the treats after it received a letter from Canada Post saying that employees were concerned about the risks mail carriers face from dogs and unhappy with having dog biscuits shaped in their likeness. Earlier this summer, a letter carrier from Chatham in southwestern Ontario broke both her wrists and had part of her ear ripped off when she was attacked by two pitbull-like dogs. Caines said that in the first six months of 2004 there were 160 dog attacks on mail carriers across Canada.

bored mofo

Another boring day. The Doctor I saw yesterday asked me to try and be more active, and keep an activity log till I see her for the follow up next week. I’m being pretty detailed, but I’m running out of things I actually feel up to doing. You can only walk around the backyard so many times. I just went and checked the mail. Now I’m building up some energy to go to the store. Thinkin bout what i need to pickup.

Blah

2002.09.05 – 6:29 pm PDT

This morning when I left for my Dr appts, there was a nice lovely 3day notice on my door. Great I’m already late on my rent, and I have no money.
I called about my escrow check, but when I got home it was in the mail box.
So I thought I was out of the boiler today when I got the check, and deposited it, but I’m not, my dad calls me and says they are going to hold the check for a period of time.
So now I have until Saturday to pay my rent, or I’m fucked.
he says he’ll try to get western union to send the money, but if not he says he’ll overnight me the money, which will get here on Saturday, cutting it very close.
fuckin stress!
I hope it works out.

Thursday

2002.08.22 – 5:53 pm PDT

Yet another BS day of trying to find an apartment, and find nothing basically.
I did meet a girl though earlier this week, she is very cool, cute too.
I set a moving date too, for the 29th, only a week away. :| *stress*
At least I got the storage place setup, and the movers setup.
I just need to: get a mail box, do the change of address stuff, shut off the cable, gas, electricity, phone.
I would like to get a fucking PO box now, just to get this over with, but I need to figure out where I’m gona be so at least I’m reasonably close to it for getting my mail.
