un denied able.

My day started out alright, then I got today’s mail. Since then I’ve been in a bad mood, like usual after having received yet another authorization denial letter from the insurance company. Only mailed yesterday, it’s quite amazing how prompt they are to issue a denial, and then see them take their sweet [...]

health care debates

Dave Winer is talking about health care issues on his blog again today and says something I can completely identify with.
“But if you have property, a car, a house, or if your kids go to private school, or if you want to take a vacation, or have a baby, or exercise between jobs, getting sick [...]

doggoned it.

The other day I neglected to mention another catch with moving back to California.  I need to get a letter from my primary treating physician, stating that Negative is a companion animal, which is why I got a dog to begin with.
I hate that it is so difficult to find a place to live where [...]

So last night I only got about 2 hours of sleep. The range of motion testing really took a toll on me.
I also couldn’t sleep because my mind was thinking. It’s 10:36am I’m supposed to go home tomorrow, I don’t have my new travel arrangements, SCIF hasn’t gotten back to me, I requested [...]

universal medical coverage in california

A total of 6.5 million people, one-fifth of the state’s population, do not have health insurance, far more than in any other state.

The proposal would prohibit insurance companies from denying coverage to people because of their age or health status. They would also be required to put 85 percent of their profits directly into health [...]

Workers’ Compensation Dreamin’

It’s all too often that I am unable to sleep, sometimes for days on end. There are only two days left of 2006. This time in my state of being awake, and looking at my logs for referrers I’ve come across some more interesting stuff to process. The lack of required mental [...]

Google Health

[mood] I’m pissed off.[/mood]
In today’s Google blog post, Google VP, Adam Bosworth touches on something I have been fighting with.
The system didn’t fail completely, but struggled with these phases:
* What was wrong — it took her doctors nine months to correctly identify an illness which had classic symptoms
[...]

insurance.

Well, something happened today that I was certainly not expecting to happen, till I was at least 25. My insurance rates dropped! They were close to $1700/yr, now they are $1300. Now hopefully I won’t screw that up and have an accident tomorrow.

Failure.

In my eyes, the California Workers Compensation system, of Doctors, Lawyers, and Accountant trained Insurance Adjusters, has failed me, and they do not wish to listen or hear what I have to say, or what I have been through. I have been both physically and mentally disabled for coming on 3 years now. This accident [...]
