Cox, “Yes we’re a wasteful business.”

Dear COX, What a waste of resources.  I do not have a cable box from you assholes, therefore I cannot watch your VOD, ONDEMAND programming.  “YOU have the power with Cox Digital Cable. Watch what you want, when you want.”

Let’s clear the air here.  I have the power to watch what I want when I want because of my and .  I know you’re sad I’m not paying you $12/month for you’re set top box, get over it.  Please stop contacting me and further wasting resources on customers who are unable to utilize your service.  No I won’t switch.

he will be missed

I don’t read much, if at all anymore.

The books I do remember enjoying thoroughly were written by Arthur C. Clarke, namely “2001: A Space Odyssey” and “2010“.  Seeing those movies and later reading those books as a child opened my mind up to a world of fiction, with creative thoughts surrounded by computers and technology.

Well, I just read something that led to the conclusion he has passed away.

A Cox Con-versation, “it’s all just a scam” podcast.

Ooh. I got my latest communications cable bill today. I’m again unhappy with the amount of money I pay them every month for what they offer and what I am able to receive. In continuing with the trend I began last month, I decided to take some of the pent up anger and put a positive spin on it.

Using the powers of Blog Talk Radio’s cinch service(just call 1-646-200-0000), and an un-suspecting customer service rep, I created this 22 minute podcast. The conversation really doesn’t start until about 3 minutes in, but the comedic timing of the first 2 minutes or so is worth the 5mb download.

22:30 “Nice day to you, and you can listen to this on the internet”

So that’s my first impromptu podcast. I can’t count how many times the guy agreed with my points and or became silent unable to respond.

Cox Channel Line-up 900+ channels and nothing is ever on, that I would pay for by itself. It’s time to thin the heard, and allow customers the right to ala carte programming.

What I wake up to most mornings.

DSCI0112

This is what I wake up to most mornings.
Notice how he even knows to properly use the pillow.

UPDATE: after I posted this I saw a commercial for Bissell, about their Most Valuable Pet photo contest. So I entered this picture. I can enter again with another picture on the 16th.

Hurray! One of my favorite shows is back for another season. Thank You HBO for a nice birthday present.

DTV transition coupon info.

Current Mood:Bored emoticon Bored

I was trying to find some information about the DTV transition coupons. Here’s what I found in a govt pdf information sheet. At the beginning of 2008 you will have the opportunity to request a coupon. After February 17, 2009 you will need the converter box to watch over the air DTV. (Also if you want to learn more about the 700 MHz band aka. the reason we need these new boxes. Om wrote a very good article on it.) There is other stuff you could find interesting, but I doubt it. Here’s the meat;

Coupon requests

  • Households must request coupons from NTIA between January 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009.
  • Consumer coupon requests will be taken via a toll-free customer support center, a Web site, fax, and through the mail.
  • Upon request, a maximum of up to two coupons will be sent to households via the United States Postal Service and will expire three months after they are mailed.
  • Each coupon will be worth $40 towards the purchase of an eligible converter box from a certified consumer electronics retailer. Coupons have no cash value and may not be resold.
  • Coupons will be electronically trackable and uniquely numbered, similar to gift cards, so that transactions will be verified at the point of sale.

Coupon redemption

  • Once consumers begin receiving their coupon(s) in 2008, they will be able to use them toward the purchase of eligible converter boxes through certified retailers.
  • Only one coupon can be redeemed per converter box. It is unlawful for consumers to combine coupons toward the purchase of a single converter box.
  • It is unlawful for consumers to redeem coupons to purchase consumer electronics items other than eligible converter boxes.

Workers’ Compensation Dreamin’

It’s all too often that I am unable to sleep, sometimes for days on end. There are only two days left of 2006. This time in my state of being awake, and looking at my logs for referrers I’ve come across some more interesting stuff to process. The lack of required mental health care and physical treatment has left me altered to say the least. I am emotionally unstable, I cry almost daily, and days I don’t I hold back my tears some how. I write in a blog because it is MY outlet. I don’t have a professional to talk to regularly anymore and this feels like the healthy thing to do. I honestly feel homicidal at times, and suicidal the rest of the time, again I fight my urges, feeling exhausted. I didn’t used to feel this way, I feel the medications that were last prescribed to me had a huge effect on this. You may have heard of it, Cymbalta. But I will get into that later.

Novation Xio

I like drooling over music gadets. I’d really like to play with one of these synths. Maybe for my birthday. :)

PBS Now

Well yet another night that Tivo is recording a blacked out episode of Now. “Shipments of deadly chemicals are vulnerable to terrorist attacks.”

Bad Behavior has blocked 822 access attempts in the last 7 days.
