blog upgrade

I upgraded my blog to Wordpress 2.3 beta3 today. Then upgraded to the latest Ultimate Tag Warrior. The upgrades went smooth and although I later chose to import the Ultimate Tag Warrior tags into the ‘new’ Wordpress system, it allowed me to go back simply by re-enabling UTW. Phew. The new system doesn’t yet have the same functionality out of the box, which made me a bit sad. In the near future I hope to see more plugins which take advantage of the Wordpress tag system so I can retire UTW. There needs to be support for bbcode [ tag | tags ] , [/ tag | tags ], which I’ve used in all my posts for the last year or so.

update: Christine from the Internet has a couple plugins to alleviate my pains.

Your “tag cloud” link is broken. Is it relative to these issues with WordPress 2.3 and UTW ?

Yeah, the “tag cloud” is currently not working as I disabled the UTW plugin after importing the tags, and I am only using the Wordpress 2.3 built-in tagging system.

I’m waiting for someone to make a tag cloud plugin, or any plugin for that matter which interfaces with the new tag system.

My tag cloud is fixed thanks to this article about updating your Wordpress theme to support tags.
