while updating my system today, I decided to let my laptop use some of the battery because it’s been plugged in all week. now something interesting happened after trying to plug the system back into the wall. the battery says it’s charged.

I decided to get my old battery and see if it would charge. And it did.

After the old battery was working, I thought to just let the newer battery cool off, it was pretty hot. So a few minutes later I put the newer battery back into the laptop and the charge LED started to blink happily, signaling to me that everything was OK again.

gnome-power manager says i have about 7 1/2 hours left to fully charge the battery at this point.
