I’m sitting doing some breathing exercises and a thought process I had been thinking of before came to mind and, although I’m sure someone else has made this observation before me, I’m making it for myself.
blogs are a decentralized form of web based bulletin boards.

when categorized and tagged this information become the glue that turns these posts into communities of conversations that exist together in an open forum.

this site is a bit of a petri dish of all things.

watching my logs as i do sometimes i sure get a lot of hits for something i wrote about having an issue with a couple months ago while trying to get [tag]vmware[/tag] working properly. I’m not sure how much it’s actually helping people, but for the things i wrote about on that page, people seem to have an interest in going there from search engines.

One of the many things I despise about bulletin boards is when indexed by search engines, they many times give up information to the engine, which if browsed by a human would require you to give contact information to create an account. Why, when your most likely going to only need to use the page for 5 minutes or maybe not at all if only the search blurb seemed relevant and the content on the page is lacking immensely.

i’d like a wiki rich text wiki style interface to wordpress.

the ability to easily tag everything and form mind maps between the ideas.

it’d sure be great to be able to whip out a web enabled pda, push a key, and then instantly start inputing the free form thought into a post that is analyzed for individual thoughts, or even just sentances. using line breaks as seperators would be simple solution to real logic. later being able to expand upon each idea as needed.

i think dave’s OPML editor would be a great addition to mine, but I still can’t seem to get it happy in Wine.

i dont like links and addresses. changing a url is difficult. i hate using tcp port 81 to host my website.
