so i took 2 hours to download the free time limited dvd image that is windows vista some beta, some release canidate, what have you, burn was good, and tried to boot the installer, and then i was presented with this nice error.

“The file Wdsutil.dll could no be loaded or is corrupt. Setup cannot continue. Error code [126]”

Gee thanks, for wasting my dvd-r media thus far.

so i decided to see if F8 at boot, will get me a menu like a good windows should. it’s kind of tricky, once it prompts you to boot the dvd, you have ~3 sec to hit the F8 button, _one time_ no more no less.

If you press F8 twice you go to an “advanced boot” menu, which takes a bit of time to load. here your presented with the usual array of windows boot options, safe, safe with networking, boot logging, low res video, last known good, debugging mode. (hmmm), and disable signature enforcements, or just start like normal.
