Shopping trip.

While on my way out of the Stater Brothers, a nice Italian gentleman noticed my cane hanging from the cart, and we started talking about surgeries, and the surgeries he has been through since he had a car accident years ago. He’s had doctors perform surgery on his knees, and his low back, had devices implanted to try and help with pain, and in the up coming months is going to have a neck fusion.

I told him my point of views on surgery, and how most is unneeded, and he agreed to that with his knees, and his back. We also discussed how the surgeons make tons of cash, and mess up surgeries, and about how it’s practically impossible to get good medical help or advice.

It’s good to know that I’m not alone in my feelings about doctors. Also after seeing his left knee, and the huge scar, and his detailed description about the surgeries, it leaves me uneasy, and with the hopes that my knees don’t ever give out. Or by that time, knee surgery won’t be so invasive, and consuming.

I hope his neck surgery goes off with out a hitch. He told me how they will have to go in from the front, and place a needle or rod in the right position so that when they open up from the back they know where they’re looking. His story about the implant he had tried was scary too. How they had to keep him awake to place the device properly and how he was basically a test subject, while they poked and prodded for the right set of nerves in his back.
